Can I pay online?
At this time, we only accept online payment through PayPal (email@example.com). However, we do accept credit card payments in person, as well as cash and checks (payable to RegCakes).
How far in advance do I need to place my order?
It is always good to get your event date on the calendar as early as possible, even if you don't know exactly what you want to order, yet. Even for small cake/cupcake orders, we prefer you order at least a week (or up to a couple of months) in advance---at busy times, we're booked for the upcoming weekend by Monday afternoon. However, unless we're coming up on a busy holiday weekend or are working on a large wedding cake, it's likely we can accommodate small, simple orders within 2-3 days. You can always ask! For cakes with dried sugarpaste decorations, or if requesting specific cupcake wrap colors, please allow 10 days. Wedding cakes may be booked 6 months or more in advance.
Do you deliver?
Yes. For $5, we offer delivery every Tuesday (8:30am-3pm) and Friday (12-3pm) to your home or workplace in the greater Pesotum-to-Champaign-Urbana area. Feel free to tell us which parts of the delivery window are better/worse for you, and we do our best to accommodate your needs. Typically Regina will text you a specific time the day-of, or will text you 10-20 minutes before she arrives with your cake. We will deliver to Tuscola, Monticello or Mahomet for $12. (If delivery times do not work for you, you are always welcome to pick up your cake from our home during the week.)
Why Gluten Free?
Our gluten-free recipes were born out of Regina's auto-immune reactions gluten. And since many others avoid gluten, too, We have worked tirelessly to create recipes indistinguishable from traditional wheat-flour cakes. They are loved and approved by our huge panel of taste-testers (mostly wheat-eaters), and we are sure you will love them as well. We have even been able to develop that elusive gluten-free fluffy white cake. For our fellow gluten-free eaters and those with Celiac disease, rest assured that everything we make---although produced in our home---is produced in an entirely separate, dedicated gluten-free kitchen. Ingredient lists are provided with every order and are available upon request.
What ingredients do you use in your gluten-free flour?
Our cake flour is rice-based (both brown and white), and also contains potato, tapioca, corn, apple pectin, and xanthan gum.
Do you make dairy-free, nut-free, or vegan cakes?
There are several cakes listed on our flavors page that can be made in a very tasty dairy-free version, using soy margarine in place of butter. While many of our cakes do not include added nuts, we do use pecans, almonds, and peanuts in our bakery, and although we are extremely conscienscious about keeping everything washed & separated, we cannot guarantee that our baked goods are free of any allergen except gluten. Occasionally we may be able to swap out one ingredient for another to accommodate those with less common needs (to eliminate soy, for example) but in order to produce consistent, high-quality cakes, we do not make these accommodations often. We cannot eliminate eggs, as they are essential to the structure of our baked goods.

Do you use fondant?
Yes. We have a very tasty in-house fondant recipe. Any RegCake can be finished with a variety of mediums: Buttercream, ganache, fondant, gumpaste, baked meringue, and more. We will use the latest techniques, from stencils & brush-painting to elaborate molds and handcrafted gumpaste florals, to create just the cake you want.
What's a naked cake?
It's a fresh, trend-setting option! With no icing on the sides, a naked cake showcases its gorgeous layers---Our Original RegCakes have up to 20 layers of tasty goodness inside! These make a beautiful presentation at all occasions, and they can still be personalized and accented with handcrafted floral sprays, edible painted art, fun figures for kids, beautifully written messages, and more.
Do you make traditionally iced cakes?
While we encourage you to try the open-sided, layer-showcasing “naked" design, we're happy to accommodate orders for cakes with traditionally frosted sides. Our sheet cakes are always frosted on the sides.
Do you do wedding cakes?
Yes--we love to do wedding cakes! Your wedding cake can be created in any style, naked or not, traditional to modern. Do you have a cake picture that you love? Or a design idea all your own? Or no idea at all? Regina will work with you from start to finish to make it just right. We can get started by phone or email, or set up a meeting. A deposit of $100 (applied to final cost of cake) is required to book a date. See Prices page for refund policies. Wedding cakes prices start at $3.55/serving and include the planning meetings, coordination with caterer & florist, structural components in the cake, delivery and set-up on site, flavor/cutting chart for the servers, and a complimentary 6" keepcake for the Bride and Groom. Do you do cake tastings?
We currently do not hold regular tasting sessions. The best option is for Regina to deliver a tasting box (see "wedding" page for details) on a Tuesday or Friday delivery run.
What is feuilletine?
It's a tasty French textural element in desserts. Think of it as a very thin crepe that's been baked until crispy, and broken up into flakes. It tastes somewhat like a sugar cone, or a very thin, light graham cracker.
Do you do cakes for fundraisers?
As much as we would love to give back to the community in this way, state law prohibits cottage food operations like ours from offering food products directly for fundraisers or re-sale. Instead, we can offer gift certificates or %-off coupons for door prizes, silent auctions, etc. If you buy a cake from us, however, you are welcome to do whatever you want with it!
